UnMasked: Sharka Bosakova Exhibition
Oct 26 -
Nov 06

A look at how we present and obscure the self.
“The mask has now become an engaging and confronting fetish and trend; a fear, straddling fashion and art, for a game in which being and appearing are reversed and alternated,” says artist and designer Sharka Bosakova.
Held at Queensland College of Arts’ Grey Street Gallery, UnMasked is a collaborative multimedia exhibition by Bosakova that uses technology and the body landscape to explore the role of masks in socialisation and embodied selfhood in the age of the selfie.
If you can, make sure you head down for the opening event on Thursday October 22. Live Butoh dance performances by Megan Janet White and RAW Bodies will activate the objects and installations while soundscapes by Paul Young (Orthotyp-a) and Robert Lort (Black Cactus) will ring on.
