Diesel Fall/Winter 2014

Diesel has gone back to its roots with its collection for Fall/Winter 2014. Creative director, Nicola Formichetti has evoked the founding pillars of Diesel; denim, leather and military in the latest collection. The result is classic Diesel at its finest. Whilst military fads have come and gone on the runways (and not always successfully) nobody does it quite like Diesel.

Oversized military green parkas, leather jackets and detailing, cargo pants and an abundance of emblematic patches are all what you would expect, and receive from Diesel’s collection. The collection also evokes inklings of punk’s heyday with the integration of leather pants and multi-fabriced layering.

Reminiscent of the pinnacle of grunge, teen angst and ’90s youthful rebellion the collection brings a touch of nostalgia to a modern, yet timelessly classic look. The empowering symbolism of subverting militarism is not lost of Formichetti who says of his militaristic inspirations, “it still gives an energy to today’s young generations – it never goes out of style and always looks strong.”

This collection is just another testament to Diesel’s reputation as the army aesthetic’s staple brand.
