Marimekko FW16 at Paris Fashion Week

A tribute to all women.

Yesterday saw Finnish label Marimekko send its Fall/Winter ’16 collection down the runway at Paris Fashion Week.

The ready-to-wear range was a tribute to all women from the past, present and future, reflecting the label’s theme for the year.

“Marimekko is about appreciating imperfection and personality – being true to oneself,” said Creative Director, Anna Teurnell. “We design products for the everyday lives of real women, to inspire them to dress for themselves and live their lives as they choose.”

This focus on personality was apparent through a varied colour palette, asymmetric silhouettes, bold prints and Marimekko’s signature floral, reinterpreted in a number of ways.

This year’s Fall/Winter trend of voluminous shoulders and sleeves was also a focus of the collection, seen across coats and tops.

We know what we’ll be wearing this winter.
