Spotlight on: The Gently Unfurling Sneak

Cloud, diamond, hug, star, sunset.

Designer Anika Cook describes her brand The Gently Unfurling Sneak as a teeny tiny design company that she started by accident back in 2006, while teaching herself screen printing.

Since then, the label has embraced digital fabric printing and produces clothing, artworks and cards featuring custom prints based around Anika’s surrealistic illustrations, all proudly made in Melbourne.

She professes that each product must be strange, beautiful or amusing (preferably a combination of the three) to make it out of the studio, and commonly inserts mysterious narratives, such as giant zebras and tulip-headed businessmen, into her work.

The Gently Unfurling Sneak believes strongly in supporting local businesses, makers and manufacturers.

…And regular bagel breaks in the workplace.

Priorities are right.
