A look at the exhibition celebrating Melbourne’s Fashion Design Council

It’s here.

An exhibition celebrating the influence of Fashion Design Council is being showcased at the RMIT Design Hub in Melbourne.

High Risk Dressing / Critical Fashion examines how the Fashion Design Council created a legacy and how it relates to contemporary practice today.

The Design Hub has been transformed into a set for a month-long series of fashion presentations, performances, films, publications and residencies.

The Fashion Design Council, active during the ‘80s and early ‘90s in Melbourne, was a membership-based organisation that promoted avant-garde Australian fashion.

Original Fashion Design Council material has been pulled for the exhibition from the RMIT Design Archives, making it that much more special.
