Project NextGen applications are now open for MBFWA 2017

Att: young designers.

Applications are now open for IMG’s Project NextGen initiative and yes, you’ll want to enter.

The program is an extension of MBFWA’s NextGen show which has helped launch some of our favourite labels. Alumni including sass & bide, Gorman and Akira, just to name a few.

So what’s in it for you apart from the pride and joy of being classed as the next big thing in fashion? Project NextGen finalists receive mentoring, invaluable industry networking opportunities, exposure to MBFWA buyers and marketing and social media support to help reach a global audience. So, no big deal.

There are up to six spots to be filled, with the selected designers also locking in a spot in the 2017 NextGen runway show at MBFWA. A show producer and models are provided, with all hair and makeup sorted as well. Boom.

If nothing else, your application will ensure your work gets in front of some pretty key fashion figures. Project NextGen 2017 will be judged by a panel of nine established authorities in the fashion industry, from Australian Laureate recipient, Nancy Pilcher, to Maddison McKay, editor-in-chief of Oyster.

Apply here and quickly. Applications close on December 21 with the lucky designers announced in February.
