Puma is dropping 50 sneakers for the 50th anniversary of the iconic Suede silhouette

Celebrations are in order.

Go hard or go home, they say. And when you’re celebrating 50 years of the iconic Puma Suede, there’s only one option.

In honour of the Suede’s golden anniversary in 2018, the brand is teaming up with pioneers in fashion, music and pop culture.

In true Puma fashion, it will drop 50 revamped styles of the classic silhouette.

The anniversary will see a mixture of fresh iterations, as well as limited re-releases. Think the B-Boy Fabulous Pack and the Made in Japan Collector’s Pack.

If you didn’t know, the iconic shoe first made its debut at the Summer Olympic Games in Mexico in 1968.

When athlete Tommie Smith broke the 200m world record, he walked over to the victory stand carrying a Puma Suede.  He famously raised his left Suede, placed it on the stand, then raised his right fist in a silent gesture.

To kick off celebrations, Puma has fittingly chosen Tommie Smith to front the anniversary campaign.

The full roster of collabs will all be unveiled in November, with the first sneaker release happening on November 4.

Keep your eyes peeled.
