Raf Simons’ new campaign is here

An ode to Robert Mapplethorpe.

After unveiling his SS17 collection last year, Raf Simons has today unveiled the accompanying campaign.

Framed by Willy Vanderperre, the black and white images are both striking and serene, mirroring those printed on each look of the collection.

Simons looked to controversial photographer, Robert Mapplethorpe, ahead of the release, deciding to print Mapplethorp’s graphic imagery on every look.

Rising to prominence during the ’70s, Mapplethorpe was best known for his exploration of male sexuality and homoeroticism.

The collection sees oversized silhouettes, pinstripes and leather detailing, and is expected to drop in the coming weeks.
