The NGV is holding a new exhibition dedicated to Bulgari jewels

Lavish.

Given the calibre of recent exhibitions, the NGV is one of the best places in the city to discover some fashion history. Their newest exhibition is no different.

Titled Italian Jewels: Bulgari Style, the collection features a spectacular display of jewels from the Bulgari Heritage Collection. It will include over 80 pieces of emerald and diamond jewellery that has been drawn from the archives, highlighting the Italian design house’s longstanding relationship with Hollywood and Italian cinema.

NGV Director, Tony Elwood, said: “Italian Jewels: Bulgari Style illustrates the bold design aesthetic of Bulgari through a selection of exquisite gems worn by iconic stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and Ingrid Bergman. The exhibition thematically explores design motifs for which the firm is best known – the serpent, ancient coins and striking color combinations, among others.”

Opening at the NGV International on September 30, the exhibition is free to the public until January 29 2017.

There really is no excuse.
