For the majority of us mere mortals, going to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week is more of a dream than a reality. And while the runways still remain a place for cool fashun people (and bloggers with zero sense of shame), we have dubbed the seminars as THE place to be.

Clean Cut Fashion Association Presents Future Talks

When: Friday May 19, 10am
What: Running in its third year thanks to Clean Cut Fashion, this seminar addresses the future of fashion. This year’s talk will be hosted by renowned Australian author and journalist, Clare Press, and will see experts discuss the importance of quality over quantity, off-shore and on-shore manufacturing, and future-proofing our fashion industry in a globalised world. The panel includes founder and creative director of Viktoria & Woods, Margie Woods, co-founder of Manning Cartell, Gabrielle Manning, and environmentalist and model, Laura Wells.

What: Hosted by WGSN, a world leader in trend forecasting, this seminar will tackle what we can expect for the future of the industry.

Part 1: Fashion Futures

In a digital and global age, it’s crucial to look beyond the obvious to stay on top of the latest trends. In this session, WGSN trend expert, Helen Sax will explore the global drivers shaping consumer demand and what it means for fashion today. Starting with a seasonal overview, Sax will touch on catwalks, lifestyle and culture trends in the global and Australian markets.

Part 2: Panel Discussion

The Made in Australia panel will feature a conversation between Dion Lee, Marnie Goss from Camilla and Marc and Net-A-Porter’s Retail Fashion Director Lisa Aiken.
