A photography exhibition celebrating women named Jane is coming to Melbourne

A body of work based solely on the name.

For Janes and lovers of Jane worldwide, your time is now.

In news that you probably did not expect to hear today, a photography exhibition celebrating women named Jane is coming to Melbourne.

The exhibition features 60 Janes from all over the world who share one common ground: their name. It explores women from all different backgrounds, demographics and ages to celebrate how they’re truly unique.

The participants span scientists, students, actors and activists, and even includes icons like actress Jane Birkin.

Each Jane has been photographed in identical studio and lighting conditions, despite being shot in locations across Paris, London and Melbourne.

Produced by the aptly-named creative agency Jane, the project was shot by photographers Jared Beck and Tracey Lee Hayes.

Opening night for My Name is Jane is October 13, with the exhibition running through to November 13.
