A real-life university is offering a class on Beyoncé

OK ladies, now let’s get education.

In royal news that we care about, a course on Queen Bey will be offered at The University of Copenhagen this semester.

It’s called ‘Beyonce, Gender and Race’ and straight A grades are suddenly on the horizon.

The class will be run by Professor Erik Steinskog under The Department of Arts and Cultural Studies, aiming to explore feminism.

In an interview with Danish news outlet TV2, Steinskog explains that the class will involve study of Bey’s songs and music videos, as she is “important in an analysis of contemporary times.”

“One of the goals (of the class) is to introduce black feminist thought, which is not well known in Scandinavia.”

And when a scholar says “Beyoncé is important in understanding the world we live in,” it’d be totally rude to disagree.

It’s no surprise that 75 students have already signed up for the course, but there’s plenty of room for more.

Some quick research tells us the university has recently entered a priority partnership with The University of Sydney, too. The agreement involves close collaboration on research, education and student exchange between the two unis.

Looks like this dream may not be completely far-fetched for us after all.
