Charcoal bed linen actually exists and it’s pretty much magic

Bacteria and odour-controlling sheets.

Anything to justify skipping washing day gets a thumbs up from us.

Sustainable bedding brand, Ettitude, has just released its Bamboo Charcoal bedding, made from a fabric that is both deodorising and bacteria-fighting. In other words, it requires less washing.

The blend combines the advantages of Ettitude’s bamboo lyocell fabric (more on that here), with the benefits of charcoal. Apparently, there are plenty.

This how the science goes: millions of tiny pores in the charcoal bedding absorb odour, sweat and bacteria. Whatever micro-organisms are left in the air or on the fabric then get decomposed, resulting in fresh sheets.

Mmmm fresh sheets.

The bamboo lyocell charcoal blend is breathable and thermo-regulating, absorbing 50% more moisture than standard cotton sheets. It’s also free from chemicals, making it safe for sensitive, eczema and acne-prone skin.

And because this just keeps on getting better and better, the sheets are anti-frizz so you don’t wake up on the wrong side of bed hair.

The new bedding is available in five colours: dove grey, indigo, mustard, apricot and an understated grid pattern.

All Ettitude products are cruelty-free, vegan-friendly and 100 per cent derived from plants, with minimal impact on the environment.

And because this story reads like a fairytale, they’re even offering free delivery.
