Here’s a closer look at the incredibly visually satisfying Pantone Cafe

Taste the colours.

We’ve got some good and bad news since updating you on the opening of Pantone’s second pop-up cafe. The good news is that everything looks as amazing as you’d expect an edible rainbow to be.

The bad news? It’s still in Monaco.

Set up on the picturesque Grimaldi Forum esplanade, you’ll still be able to pop in to the pop-up and ‘taste the colours’ til September 9 if, ya know, you happen to find yourself in Monaco.

The attention to detail here is fitting for a company that made its name through creating a system of numerically labelled colours. Along with snacks and bottled beverages, the trays, napkins, staff uniforms and even the cafe itself are all colour-coded in specific Pantone shades.

Painted in the eye-catching Monte Carlo red (Pantone 18-1763 FYI) is the shipping container that houses the cafe, a move straight out of our very own Melbourne cafe culture which begs the question: where’s our Pantone cafe?

While there’s no news yet on an Australian opening, apparently there are whispers of a full-blown restaurant or at least a permanent location over in Europe.

Good things come to those who wait.
