Instagram are making their ads shoppable
Shoppable ads = mo’ money.
Instagram have just announced that they’re going to make their ads shoppable, along with a few more platform developments.
It makes sense that this would be the next step. People are already successfully selling their stuff on Instagram and they’ve been integrating ads for a little while now. Also, shoppable ads = money.
Details on this are still up in the air but Instagram have released a screenshot of what we can expect, including a “Shop Now” button. This feature will only be available for sponsored ads, so it’s pretty much an incentive for companies to start advertising.
Instagram will open advertising up to small businesses and tap into Facebook data for better market targeting.
Pinterest are hopping on this train too and have announced that it plans to make its pins buyable.
Money money money.
