New study finds that if you’re nice at work, you’ll get paid less

Well, this sucks.

If you consider yourself a relatively nice and likeable person in office, prepare to have your day ruined.

The results of a new study published in the European Journal of Work and Organisational Psychology (sounds pretty legit), have revealed that the nicer you are at work, the more likely you are to be underpaid. You’re also more likely to have a lower status in a company than your more dominant co-workers.

Cool.

Oh, but this is just in relation to ~females~ in the workplace. The study unsurprisingly showed that males, even the non-dominant ones, will still earn wayyyy more than you.

The lesson to gain from this most wonderful news? Let those sassy comments fly.

And while you’re at it, ask for a pay rise as well.
