The best of the best at Adelaide’s Royal Croquet Club

So much fun to be had.

If you’re in Adelaide at the moment, you’re a pretty lucky chicken.

The Adelaide Fringe Festival and Royal Croquet Club are on right now, all the way until March 14. This year’s RCC is bigger than ever, combining music, food, comedy, circus and of course, croquet.

To help you navigate the month-long program, we’ve decided to break down our favourite events, so you can get the most from the Royal Croquet Club.

OUR FAVE SHOWS

Briefs
Forget burlesque, we want boylesque. Briefs is describes as “Aussie Cirque du Soleil meets Ru Paul’s Drag Race” which we are allll about. You’ll see insane acrobatics by men in show-stopping drag. If you like the sound of that, you can get a double dose by heading to Club Briefs. Club Briefs will see the Brief’s cast perform alongside artists from the Fringe. Audience participation is encouraged, so you know it’s going to get pretty wild.

Tickets available here.

Barbu Electro Trad Cabaret
A stunning meeting of cabaret and circus, Barbu brings late-19th century Montreal to Adelaide. Expect a fusion of music, video and circus, by a group of impressively bearded men.

Tickets available here.

Scotch & Soda
Scotch & Soda will drop you in the midst of a rowdy whisky joint in Europe’s 19th Century carnival past, with one main difference. It’s  an insane circus show to a live jazz band in the middle of it. This one’s set to be messy, wild and completely entertaining.

Tickets available here.

Other highlights from the 30 show program include: FAG/STAG, All Genius All Idiot, Charlie Caper & Malin Nilsson: Minor Miracles and Torte E Mort.

OUR FAVE GIG

Jamie MacDowell and Tom Thum
If you’ve been listening to Triple J lately, you’ve probably been hearing Tom Thum’s insane beatboxing on Hilltop Hoods latest track ‘1955’. If you are heading along to RCC you’ll be able to catch him in the flesh, performing his insane sounds alongside guitarist Jamie MacDowell.

Tickets available here.

Other musical delights include: Hugo Mendez, The Shaolin Aeronauts, Chrome Sparks, Bondax & TCYTS, The Swiss and more.

OUR FAVE FOOD

Scroll Ice Cream
We all know dessert is the most important meal of the day, so it’s lucky that RCC has made sure Scroll Ice Cream is in attendance. They make ice cream that looks like pretty lil roses, and is the first cold plate ice creamery in Australia. Yum.

Banh Mi Vietnamese
Banh Mi Vietnamese is delivering authentic Vietnamese rolls to the people of Adelaide. Trust us when we say these are packed full of flavour and add a little taste of Vietnam to the festival.

Plantation Juice Co
Once we’ve finished munching down on ice cream, Banh Mi and all the other delicious food, we’ll be grabbing a juice from Plantation. They use the  super fresh produce to create delicious smoothies, juices and more to quench your thirst and lift your Insta game.

There’s also waaaay more on offer, with Pit House, Gin Long Canteen, Jamaican Me Crazy, Mangia Mangia Doc’s Diner, Indian dishes from Naya and Street ADL all serving up. There is seriously every type of cuisine on offer and vegetarian options at every stall too.

Royal Croquet Club Adeliade will run from February 12 – March 14 at Victoria Square [Tarndanyangga].
