Banoffee dropped a new single and it’s giving us the feels

Mesmerising.

Banoffee’s latest track ‘Oceans’ is getting us all emotional. It’s dedicated to those missed and longed for.

“I wrote ‘Oceans’ to try and understand that deep ache of missing someone,” says Martha Brown (aka Banoffee, for those playing at home).

The single and video release comes from her 2015 EP, Do I Make You Nervous?, and follows on from a recent Splendour appearance (where she dominated). So, it’s no surprise the Melb gal has now got international tour dates locked in for the end of the year.

Though the synths and beats of ‘Oceans’ make for something we can’t quite put in a place or genre, the track undoubtedly mesmerises nonetheless.

See the clip below, which Banoffee produced alongside her choreographer and dancer, Aisha Kuryana.

“Aisha’s movement is her ode to long distance love,” says Martha. “Expressing feelings of frustration and confusion in a way that can create something beautiful and cathartic. It is her way of saying ‘I miss you’, her way of saying ‘this is for you’ whilst giving parts of herself that only her dearest have seen before.”
