We now know the true meaning of the Spice Girls lyrics ‘zig-a-zig ah’

STOP THE PRESSES.

An age old mystery has finally, finally been solved.

No more turning in your bed at night, staring at the ceiling wondering what on Earth the Spice Girls were talking about when they said “I wanna really, really, really wanna zig-a-zig ah.”

A very reliable source – being an anonymous co-writer of the 1996 hit ‘Wannabe’ – has divulged the lyrics’ true meaning.

By this point, we kind of assumed there wasn’t one.

According to that writer, it actually means “shit and cigars” and was a code name for a guy the group shared their studio with, once upon a time.

“This guy had this nasty habit of taking a dump in the shared khazi while smoking a cigar, so we took to referring to him as ‘S**t and Cigars’,” the insider told Daily Star.

Well, there you have it. Mel B was actually just singing about going to the toilet. You can re-listen to the track below.
