Haim: Something to Tell You
A killer second album.
It’s been a long time between drinks for everyone’s favourite indie group that they’d really, really like to be in (please?!).
Now back with a killer second album, Something to Tell You, they’ve delivered on the promise of their debut – the promise that they’re no flash in the pan. (Ahem, MGMT, ahem.)
You may have heard ‘Want You Back’, the first teaser single from the album – and yes, it’s basically Days Are Gone mark II. Thankfully, the new album does represent a sweet and subtle progression into new territory.
There’s a little more funk, there’s a touch of ’80s synth. It’s quirky even, at times. And I’m so, so happy when a good band gets better when they do something different… but not too different.
