Marques Almeida answers prayers, creates first menswear collection

Since its inception in 2011, frayed denim by Marques Almeida has become synonymous with street style everywhere. If you haven’t seen that raw hem on a blogger somewhere, you clearly aren’t following the right people.

This label is big. And it’s about to get even bigger.

Giving us the best of both worlds, Marques Almeida has announced that men can now grab a slice of the very fashionable pie. For the very first time, the London-based label has designed a collection featuring its signature raw denim pieces, specifically for the menswear market.

The dramatic raw-edged denim, which has been extremely successful in womenswear, is being showcased in a number of classic silhouettes.

The collection is comprised of quintessential classics, featuring oversized t-shirts, hoodies, jeans, tracksuit shorts and a statement denim coat.

Although the brand has long created larger women’s sizes to cater for their male audience, this is the first time that Marques Almeida has created a collection that is specifically tailored to men.

The collection is available at select retailers now, including SSENSE.
