Here are the finalists for the VAMFF National Graduate Showcase

Super talents.

As far as design talent goes, Australia is full of some of the best. And this year’s Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival National Graduate Showcase, Presented by Target and Supported by Fashion Journal, has some of the finest yet. Go us.

Target’s managing director, Stuart Machin, describes the VAMFF program as “a launching pad for young designers [that] gives them an incredible opportunity to showcase their talent in front of consumers, fashion decision-makers and industry experts at the Festival.”

This year’s judging panel – including Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival CEO Graeme Lewsey, general manager design innovation Target Australia Anthony Pecora, stylist Kate Gaskin, bloggers Jess and Stef Dadon of How Two Live and our very own Leah White – handpicked the 12 finalists from design institutions across the country.

“We were blown away by the standard and level of design innovation by applicants who demonstrated a level of maturity and industry understanding far beyond their year,” said Lewsey.

The winner will not only walk away with the awesome feeling that they’re one of Australia’s best up-and-coming designers, they will also be receiving a $25,000 grant and the opportunity to design a one-off Target capsule collection that will be available in selected stores. We can’t wait.

The young designer will join an amazing list of National Graduate Showcase alumni including Gabrielle Brown from 2014 and last year’s winner, Rachael Zheng.
