After 18 years, Green With Envy is closing its doors

End of an era.

Prepare to say goodbye to Green With Envy.

According to a recent newsletter sent by the retailer, the much-loved Melbourne boutique is closing its doors.

“The end of an era!” it announced via newsletter last week.

“After 18 years, Green with Envy is closing its doors! Everything is now 50 per cent off.”

Green With Envy first launched its Chapel Street flagship in 2000. It quickly became a destination for shopping international designer items from the likes of Acne Studios, Dion Lee, Céline and Alexander Wang.

Sadly, in the last few years, the retailer’s popularity has wavered after its in-store offering shifted to exclusively housing its in-house label, Nicholas, and accessories.

It’s been reported both the Chapel Street and Melbourne CBD stores will be closing, as well as the Green With Envy online store.

There’s no word yet on whether Nicholas, which is designed and made in Melbourne, will continue on.
