First Look: Melbourne’s new label committed to keeping it local.

Meraki makin’ a difference.

We love finding sisters who are doin’ it for themselves, especially in the fashion industry. Meraki Collections is an up-and-coming clothing label with an ethical background, born and manufactured in Melbourne.

This lady is doing it for cool girls everywhere. Born in Chile, designer Dayana Adones grew up in Melbourne and felt unsatisfied with the trend of fast fashion that international chains were bringing to our shores.

She lives by the idea that designs are born through experience and they inspire her to create clothing from a raw sketch on paper.

Due to drop in April, Meraki Collections is committed to local manufacturing, valuing the ‘slow fashion’ movement within the industry. All clothing is made in Melbourne with love, supporting both the local economy and the manufacturers within the city. The brand believes that clothing should withstand seasonal trends and be a timeless piece kept for years to come.

It is evident in these contemporary designs that the pieces are made to last. The fabric selected is just as important as the design itself, favouring high quality textiles as well as supreme manufacturing. The balance between femininity and androgyny is evident, as contemporary lines and a minimalist aesthetic is favoured.

We are expecting big things from this label. Watch this space.
