Spotlight on: Gala Apparel

Dalí-inspired wears.

Named after Salvador Dalí’s wife and muse, Gala is all about surrealism.

Launching in 2013, the apparel line is inspired by the artist’s work but with a fresh, modern approach. The pieces themselves are minimalist – staple items covering leggings, t-shirts and crops – with the surrealist aspect shining through in the hand-drawn graphics and popular Mandala print.

Working with local photographer, Cody Roberts from Curbside Collection, the surrealist style extends to Gala’s shoots, which aim to capture the Dalí’s eccentricity.

In addition to their line of apparel, showcasing the clothes is a Gala in itself, with the label holding events accompanied by Dalí’s artwork and live music.
