TLC to drop new album, need funding from you

They “Ain’t 2 proud 2 beg”

The group best known for being the epitome of the cool girl in the ’90s is back to bring us more classic tunes, and they want your help.

After experiencing the most success out of any girl band, their achievements during the 1990s golden era of baggy pants and crop tops were met with some very tough times. In 1996 TLC declared bankruptcy, and tragically lost member Lisa Left-Eye Lopes in a car accident in 2002.

It may have taken thirteen long years, but now remaining members Tionne T-Boz Watkins and Rozonda Chilli Thomas have decided to answer the prayers of many adoring fans and come up with one last album, and they are asking for help to do it.

Using creative project site Kickstarter, the group are trying to raise $150,000 to fund the album, so it can be recorded independent of any label.

In their own words “It is ESSENTIAL that we create our final album completely on our own terms, without any restrictions, with YOU.”

Incentives include getting to vote on remixes of new tracks, and a trip to the movies with either T-Boz or Chilli if you are willing to donate $1000. You can even purchase a slumber party with the girls for a cool $5000, or a workout with Chilli for the low, low price of $2000.

It is time to dust of your platform boots and your baggy denim, this one doesn’t look too far away with the campaign having already raised more than half of the required funds.
