According to a very confusing Instagram post, Deciem is shutting down

In a confusing and concerning turn of events, it looks like Deciem is ceasing operations.

The parent company of cult brand The Ordinary has had a rollercoaster few months since its founder, Brandon Truaxe, took over the official company Instagram.

Eyebrow-raising posts have included firing shots at fellow skincare brand Drunk Elephant, ranting in support of Donald Trump, and asking followers to call 911 to help him.

In the account’s latest video, Truaxe has accused a majority of the company of serious criminal activity.

He also said in the post’s caption that everybody who had ever mocked him would “face criminal prosecution.” A lengthy list of brands and names followed, including Estée Lauder, H&M and George Clooney.

Both the video and caption are long and confusing, but the basic gist is that Deciem will be shutting down.

We’ll just have to keep an eye out to see whether or not that’s true.
