I’m a beauty editor, here’s why I won’t travel without my AIMIKE HyperFlex Go Hair Dryer
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH AIMIKE
WORDS BY REBECCA FEARN
The one lightweight hair tool that comes with me everywhere.
If there’s one thing I know as a British beauty editor who’s moved halfway across the world to Australia – and who travels a lot for work – it’s that hair tools aren’t exactly suitcase-friendly.
Not only do they add substantial weight to an already-overflowing case (yes, that extra two kilos is valuable), they can also be bulky, hard to pack and difficult to keep in good condition. So when I came across a lightweight, mini hair dryer that promised not to compromise on quality, I said sign me up.

What is the AIMIKE HyperFlex Go Hair Dryer?
If you’re not familiar with AIMIKE, the brand makes professional-quality hair tools that help you get a salon-style blowout at home – or indeed, from anywhere. As someone who struggles to achieve these results myself, it’s a philosophy I can absolutely get behind, and one that the AIMIKE HyperFlex Go Hair Dryer promises to uphold. Indeed, their brand slogan is Born for Better Blowouts, and to that they certainly remain true.
The real game-changer comes down to its design. Instead of having to invest in multiple hair dryers due to different size and voltage issues, the AIMIKE HyperFlex Go can work wherever you need it to: at the gym, on a weekend away, during your holiday at a tropical, far-flung destination, and also at home.
Not only is it lightweight, it’s also foldable, has automatic voltage adaptation (and comes with a worldwide adaptor), and promises to deliver super-fast drying with salon-quality results. The auto-voltage technology automatically adapts to 100–240V power supplies, so there’s no need to manually switch voltage settings when travelling internationally. The AIMIKE HyperFlex Go Hair Dryer has three heat settings, three speed settings (plus one for cool air) and delivers two billion ions to help reduce frizz and static, wherever you are in the world. As a frizz-prone girl who often finds herself in humid destinations, this in particular spoke to me.

What’s included?
My first impression of the AIMIKE HyperFlex Go Hair Dryer was that it looked impressive for such a small model. With its pink packaging, it’s obviously cute, but one look at it and you can somehow already tell it doesn’t scrimp on power.
I was also impressed with how many little ‘extras’ were included. For example, there’s a handy drawstring travel bag, along with a worldwide adaptor so you can style your hair anywhere in the world. There’s also a smoothing and diffuser attachment, so it’s like three tools in one. It’s these small details that make the biggest difference when you’re investing money into a beauty tool.

How to use the AIMIKE HyperFlex Go Hair Dryer
The tool is super easy to get to grips with and doesn’t involve any fiddly buttons or complicated instructions, which is always my pet peeve. To open the folded design, you simply twist the bottom and the top in opposite directions. For your attachments, it’s also just a case of ‘snap on and go’.
The smoothing attachment (my favourite) channels air directly down the hair shaft to reduce frizz, while the diffuser attachment gently dries while helping to maintain natural curls and texture. Both are super travel-friendly, which, especially with regard to the diffuser, is really rather impressive.
Operating your AIMIKE HyperFlex Go Hair Dryer is simple: you have three speed settings to choose from (I only needed the first or second, because it’s truly so powerful!) as well as a cool air setting to finish your style. There are three heat settings, too, which are very easy to switch between.
The hair dryer is designed to be used with a styling brush; as someone who’s lazy and has zero upper body strength, I usually can’t hack holding a hair dryer in one hand and a brush in the other. However, since this tool is so light, it’s easy to use alongside a round brush to really amp up the volume – just like a professional hairdresser would.

A beauty editor’s veridct: Is it worth buying?
Many things impressed me about this hair dryer – and trust me when I tell you I’ve tried a lot of premium hair tools in my years. I love how easy the device is to get going with, how travel-friendly it is (I’m already planning to pack this on an upcoming trip to Seoul) and just how strongly it delivers on results.
As I mentioned, frizzy hair is my bugbear, but I found the AIMIKE HyperFlex Go Hair Dryer delivered on its promise to dry hair quickly due to its strong motor, and faster drying time means less frizz. The smoothing attachment really helps with this, as does the cool setting to ‘set’ your style. My hair was dry in half the time it usually takes, and with a silkier finish that lasted even in humidity.
If you’re in the market for a new hair dryer and love to be on the move, I’d definitely recommend the AIMIKE HyperFlex Go Hair Dryer. Yes it’s easy to use wherever you are, but it’s good enough to be your ‘main’ at-home dryer, too. And for US$129, it’s an accessible upgrade: to me, this is just good girl math.
