Get a haircut on July 30 and proceeds will go towards ending slavery

Cuts for a cause.

If you’re in good need of a haircut, we suggest holding off another couple of weeks.

The fifth annual Style for Life Day will return on July 30, and it’s your chance to get a new look while helping the fight to end slavery.

For the uninitiated, the Australia-wide event sees participating salons cut and style as many people as possible in one day. All of the day’s collected profits will then be donated to Hagar, a not-for-profit organisation helping female survivors of trafficking.

According to the United Nations, there were 21 million people, including children, trapped in forced labour globally in 2016.

Hagar works with trafficking survivors in Cambodia, Afghanistan and Vietnam to help rebuild their lives and equip them with the skills to live independently.

ELEVEN Australia will also donate $1 from every sale of its limited-edition Miracle Hair Treatment sold over June and July this year.

“Seeing first-hand the positive impact the money raised from Style For Life Day has had on these brave women and children makes me proud of our industry,” says ELEVEN Australia co-creative director, Joey Scandizzo.

To get involved, head here to check out the list of participating salons and book an appointment for July 30.
