How it feels/smells/looks

Let me start by saying I really like the Summer Fridays brand. I’ve been using the Jet Lag mask for over a year now and it was an exciting day when I found out that it’s now in Australia and exclusive to Mecca. In case you didn’t know, the only products in the brand’s range are masks – it’s super refreshing to see a brand only have one product category and focus on getting it RIGHT. Which it does. The mask I’ve reviewed is the second mask released, the Overtime Mask. This one is a more traditional exfoliating mask and works to brighten, smooth and clarify all skin types.

As with all Summer Friday’s products, the packaging is very chic. This one smells like a chai latte – yes chai!! So yes, it smells delicious.

Why I like it

I like this mask for a simple reason: I think it genuinely did exfoliate my skin. It wasn’t too harsh and once I removed it from the skin, I felt like it actually did something. My face felt super soft and rejuvenated and I feel like it’s an easy enough product to add into my routine. You just apply and leave on for 10 minutes then wash off with warm water. Easy!

I am also a fan of the ingredients Summer Fridays uses. Everything is well thought out and actually does something good for the skin. Highlight ingredients include pumpkin extract to brighten, apricot seeds to buff away dull skin and oat kernel proteins to calm redness.

Areas for improvement

The graininess of this product sort of drives me nuts. I know a lot of exfoliators have a grainy texture, but I found this really hard to wash off. The particles are SO small, it takes a good three shots for me to fully remove this product.
