Overdue.
Pinterest is testing a new feature that allows users to search by skin tone.
The tool aims to amplify diversity on the platform, saving users from sifting through thousands of unrelated images.
When you type in a beauty term, e.g. ‘red lipstick’, the search bar will include a series of palettes to match your skin tone. Once you select the appropriate colour, Pinterest will only show you pins with that relevant skin tone.
For the time being, the company has only rolled out the feature to a select number of users as part of its testing period.
Fingers crossed the rollout comes our way soon.
