Who came out on top?

Online beauty platform, Cosmetify, has been hard at work compiling this year’s Cosmetify Index to reveal a comprehensive list of 2019’s most successful brands, names and products in the beauty world.

Analysing over 1,500 global beauty and cosmetics brands, the judges used five major factors to select the top brands including percentage change in searches, search volume, Instagram hashtags, followers and engagement rate.

As a result of the deliberations, Huda Beauty, Anastasia Beverly Hills and MAC came out on top as the year’s most successful beauty brands, each boasting millions of followers, searches and great social engagement.

Those following the recent sale of a majority share Kylie Cosmetics might also be interested to know the most-searched brands globally (and their average number of monthly searches):

  1. Yves Rocher, 2,169,320
  2. The Body Shop, 861,020
  3. Clinique, 757,710
  4. Estée Lauder, 600,280
  5. Maybelline, 581,110
  6. Glossier, 538,440
  7. Dove, 450,000
  8. Kylie Cosmetics, 434,650
  9. MAC, 423,560
  10. Huda Beauty, 395,690

The biggest beauty influencers were awarded to Huda Kattan, Millie Bobby Brown and yes, Kylie Jenner.

Cosmetify also used Google Trends data to crown 2019’s rising stars of beauty with Kristen Ess, Jeffree Star and Ole Henriksen claiming the top spots.

Naturally, from country to country beauty trends differ. So, to cater to this variation of beauty styles, the report also breaks down favourite beauty brands by country.

Cult favourite Glossier came out on top in the US, Dove claimed the top spot for India and Yves Rocher came in first place in a number of huge markets around the globe, including Russia, Canada and France.

Australia’s favourite? The Body Shop.
