Retail Assistant — Christmas Pop-Up (Seasonal)

We’re an Australian women’s fashion label opening a Christmas pop-up, and we’re looking for a warm, stylish, and reliable Part-Time Retail Assistant to join us for our busiest and most exciting season of the year. This is a seasonal, part-time role running October through December, with the potential to continue with the brand beyond the festive period for the right person.
About the role
As the face of our pop-up, you’ll create a welcoming, elevated shopping experience helping customers find pieces they love, keeping the space looking beautiful, and making sure every visit feels special during the Christmas rush.
What you’ll be doing:
- Delivering genuine, personable customer service and styling advice on the floor
- Driving sales and helping customers put together looks and gifts
- Processing transactions accurately at the POS
- Gift-wrapping and adding those special festive touches for customers
- Keeping the store beautifully merchandised, stocked, and tidy throughout the day
- Replenishing stock and assisting with deliveries and stocktakes
- Helping with opening and closing procedures
- Supporting click-and-collect and online order pickups as needed
About you
- A minimum of 2 years’ retail or customer service experience is essential
- A genuine love of fashion and an eye for styling
- Warm, confident, and great with people
- Reliable, punctual, and a real team player
- Available across the season, including weekends and extended trading over the Christmas peak
- Comfortable on your feet and staying energised through busy periods
The details
Type: Casual, seasonal (October–December 2026)
Hours: 20–25 hours per week across weekdays and weekends ( need to be available at least 3 days a week)
Pay: $34 per hour — set per the General Retail Industry Award
Location: Paddington
Start date: Early October
Key Responsibilities
Sales & customer experience
- Deliver warm, personable service that reflects the Ance Gria brand and makes every customer feel looked after
- Offer styling advice and help customers build outfits and find the perfect gifts
- Drive sales and work towards individual and store targets
- Build genuine rapport with customers to encourage repeat visits and loyalty
Point of sale & transactions
- Process sales, exchanges, and refunds accurately at the POS
- Handle cash and card payments and reconcile at end of day
- Capture customer details for the mailing list where appropriate
Store presentation & merchandising
- Keep the pop-up beautifully merchandised, clean, and on-brand throughout the day
- Restock and replenish the floor, ensuring sizes and styles are well presented
- Assist with visual merchandising updates and window/display changes
Stock & operations
- Receive, unpack, and process deliveries
- Assist with stock takes and inventory accuracy
- Support click-and-collect and online order fulfilment/pickups
- Complete opening and closing procedures and daily checklists
Festive / seasonal
- Provide gift-wrapping and festive finishing touches for customers
- Help manage the increased foot traffic and energy of the Christmas peak
- Support in-store events, promotions, or launches during the season
