Platypus Shoes is a part of the Accent Group which is the largest footwear group with over 850+ stores, 34 brands and 30+ online platforms including; Glue Store, Platypus, Skechers, Hype DC, Vans, Dr. Martens, Subtype, The Athletes Foot, CAT, Merrell, The Trybe, Timberland, Stylerunner, Hoka, UGG, Saucony, & Nude Lucy!
Reporting into the Buyer for Platypus, you will provide operational support both administrative and analytical. You will assist the Buyer in all facets of the buying process & inventory management which supports the overall company sales objectives, gross margin, and turnover results. Other duties may include cross functional & departmental projects within skill and competency level.
Key Responsibilities
- Trade reporting; Weekly sales report, Store sales report & trade dashboards
- Post season analysis (PSA); completed monthly, quarterly and each half
- Inventory reports – Including WR, GR, & PSR
- Ad hoc reporting
- Assist the buyer in creating, ranging, and quantifying a merchandise strategy for brands and/or categories in assigned portfolio in line with merchandise objectives.
- Analyse brand and line performance weekly to identify best sellers and slow movers to maximise sales profit and identify risk and opportunity.
- Maintain an understanding of current and forward fashion trends as well as marketplace trends
- Managing the order process to ensure deadlines are met and orders are put into the system accurately in a timely manner and that all records are always kept up to date.
- Accurate maintenance of all buy plans in assigned portfolio
- Build and maintain strong relationships with brand partners.
- Represent Accent Group’s core values in all brand relationships
- Develop and maintain good communication with all suppliers to achieve proactive outcomes
- Contract management
- Purchase order entry and maintenance
- Product hierarchy and data integrity
- Follow correct EDI protocol
- Managing the delivery process with consistent communication to all key stakeholders
- Accurate maintenance of all buy plans in assigned portfolio
- Communicate relevant information to stores using the appropriate channels
- Product & New Brand Knowledge
- Prepare and review monthly store documents
- Visit stores regularly to understand local market and receive feedback from store team
KEY SKILLS
- Previous experience in a Buying admin role and Retail
- Degree qualified preferred
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, PowerPoint and AP21
- Previous experience in a buying role
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team
- Up to date with current trends in the market
- Affiliation with Accent Group Core values and “Make It Happen” attitude
