Role Description
The Beautiful Bunch is a Melbourne-based floral delivery service bringing joy through flowers and creating jobs for women from refugee backgrounds. We are a social enterprise, offering training and employment opportunities to young women who are experiencing challenges to finding employment. Our purpose is to support our trainees to build the confidence, skills, and social networks needed to find meaningful work and begin the path to achieving their dreams.
We are hiring a talented Senior Florist with extensive experience in events, with a passion for making a positive difference in the lives of the young women we work with. As the only social enterprise florist in Australia working with young women from refugee backgrounds, it is crucial that you share our vision and values to contribute to a better world for people and the planet.
Key Responsibilities
- Taking consultations and sending quotes and responding to enquiries promptly
- Ensuring payment of clients is made in a timely manner, always prior to event day
- Professional communication with all clients and staff
- Organising internal staff in such a way that ensures smooth event execution
- Maintaining robust stock management of all items required to execute events
- Conceptualising mood-boards and design elements required for booking and executing events
- Accurate budgeting for wholesale flowers required for all events, plus studio stock when needed
- Conceptualise and create beautiful floral arrangements for both retail and event florals
- Liaise with suppliers and be confident in making flower purchases at market
- Assist with inventory control, ensuring we neither run out of nor waste stock
- Contribute to the organised, orderly and smooth running of daily operations
- Collaborate with and carry out instructions as given by the General Manager
KEY SKILLS
- Background or previous experience as an Events Florist
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment and ability to pivot when priorities change
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to work on feet for long hours and physically able to meet event floristry requirements
- Highly organised and independent with ability to multi-task and prioritise
- Good balance of creative and technical skills
