Role Description
Karlaidlaw is looking for a full time Production Manager at the North Melbourne studio. Candidate must have 3+ years experience in a production role. The role is 4 days a week. Monday-Thursday. We work very closely as a team in house you will be working alongside our sample machinist, and our production assistant who currently works 3 days a week.
JOB SKILLS
- Strong knowledge of garment construction, fabric, trims and production processes.
- Cost Management: manage budget/costing. Stay within targets.
- Strong communication: Must be able to collaborate well with design team, suppliers, manufactures and internal teams to work efficiently.
- Problem Solver: ability to identify and resolve production related issues quickly and calmly.
- Organised with great time management and ability to prioritise skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Critical Path Management: Oversee the product lifecycle timeline, tracking milestones and ensuring deadlines are met across design, production, and delivery.
- Sample Management: Oversee the ordering, tracking, and organisation of all samples – from development through to sales and press – ensuring they are delivered on time, properly catalogued, and available for fittings, range reviews, and wholesale requirements.
- Fit Sessions: Coordinate Fit sessions in line with critical path dates to ensure seamless fitting and approval process in production.
- Warehouse and Quality Control: Work closely with our manufactures to check product quality on arrival and resolve any production issues promptly.
- Logistics and Shipping: Coordinate dispatch of finished goods and liaise with freight providers to ensure smooth inbound and outbound deliveries.
- Production Coordination: Manage submissions including graded specs, care labels, and fabric approvals, Fabric test reposts, while maintaining clear communication with suppliers throughout the production cycle.
- Technical Packs: Manage technical packs with our overseas manufactures, communication via email, to ensure a clear understanding, fit notes, clear and organised imagery, tech sketches, fabrication selects.
