Role Description
Carriageworks is a thriving cultural centre located on Gadigal land in Redfern, Sydney. Built within the spectacular Eveleigh Railway Workshops, it hosts vibrant arts events and a thriving creative industries program. As well as popular events such as the weekly Farmers Market, Sydney Writers’ Festival, Australian Fashion Week, and Sydney Contemporary Art Fair, Carriageworks presents its own compelling programme of music, theatre, dance, and visual arts. With recent renewal at both executive and board levels, Carriageworks is poised for a transformative phase in its history, promising significant growth and impact in the years ahead.
We’re looking for a Marketing & Communications Coordinator to join our team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone at the early stages of their marketing career who’s passionate about arts, culture, and events. In this role, you’ll support the delivery of creative marketing campaigns, help manage our online presence and provide hands-on assistance to ensure events and communications run smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Marketing team in planning and delivering of paid, owned and earned Carriageworks campaigns across live performance, exhibitions and major events.
- Lead the content calendar for the Carriageworks Farmers Market including writing, scheduling and creating content across all channels. Creating and scheduling engaging social media and email content that reflects our brand and connects with diverse audiences.
- Creating and scheduling event web pages and website content to keep information accurate and engaging.
- Capture and edit shortform video content for digital channels.
- Manage niche marketing lists and drive cross-promotional opportunities.
- Coordinating digital invites, pre-show communication and resident newsletters
- Brief and book photographers/videographers.
- Assist with compiling reports and campaign wrap-ups to measure success
- Providing general marketing admin support to keep everything on track
KEY SKILLS
- Demonstrated experience in delivering marketing campaigns within an arts and culture environment
- Experience working with designers, printers and photographers
- Experience proofing artwork and trafficking feedback and approvals
- Tertiary qualification in the arts, marketing or relevant equivalent work experience preferred.
- You’re enthusiastic about arts, culture, and events
- Confident using social media platforms and digital marketing tools
- Organised, detail-focused, and comfortable juggling multiple tasks
- You’re a creative thinker who’s excited to contribute ideas and learn from an experienced team
