Role Description
As the Marketing Manager you will be responsible for increasing our sales with effective marketing activities including: building our presence on social media; preparing content for advertising; managing the presentation of products on our website; supporting our profile in the media by managing relations with stylists and fashion journalists; and directly responding to customers via email, chat and social media.
We are looking for someone with at least two years’ experience in a similar role who wants to build their career by applying their skills to support the growth of a high quality Australian designer fashion label.
Based at our Surry Hills Head Office, you will work closely with senior management in a creative fast-paced environment with a small, enthusiastic team.

MOSS & SPY is a leading Australian designer label setting exciting new standards for high end women’s fashion. Our sophisticated designs and high-quality fabrics offer discerning women an innovative alternative to European designer brands.
We manage production and operations from our head office & warehouse in Surry Hills in Sydney. We have stores in Sydney and Melbourne, national distribution through David Jones and selected boutiques in Australia and New Zealand, as well as a rapidly growing global online customer base and strong social media following.
Key Responsibilities
- Product knowledge: Maintain a detailed knowledge of each new collection in order to develop effective copy and creative assets for our website, social media and other marketing and communication.
- Website management: Manage the content, look and feel of our website, including participating in photoshoots, writing copy for new styles, preparing and uploading images and copy to our website, and managing online collections and associated collateral to a high standard of visual merchandising.
- Social media management: Develop our presence on social media platforms to grow our reputation through a strong brand image and identifying opportunities for extending our reach to new audiences with growth potential.
- PR, Media: Build awareness and knowledge of MOSS & SPY by engaging with and providing content to fashion publications and building our contacts with writers, image editors, and media/celebrity stylists.
- Store based events and promotions: Work with our stores to develop and execute events and promotions to build recognition and foot traffic and to build engagement with personal stylists.
- Customer engagement: Support the growth of sales by applying this knowledge to providing our customers with excellent customer service when they contact us by phone, email, online chat or social media, answering their questions about product details, including fit and suitability for different occasions.
KEY SKILLS
- Experience: You have at least two years’ experience in a fashion sales and marketing position and are looking to build your career further with a respected Australian designer brand. You have also relevant qualifications in marketing with an interest in fashion, preferably to a degree standard.
- Digital media skills: You are familiar with using Facebook, Instagram and other online and social media platforms to engage potential customers and build effective campaigns.
- Advertising content: You are skilled at writing copy for website product descriptions and creating content which can be used on Meta and Google advertising.
- Technical skills: You have experience with the tools and platforms that are part of a modern online business, including Microsoft Office with skills in Excel, the Adobe Create Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop and/or Canva. You may also be familiar with online website management tools including Shopify and email management including Klaviyo.
- Excellent customer service: You enjoy engaging with customers and have excellent customer service skills, able to communicate in detail and with ease over the phone, by email, online chat, social media messaging and face to face when required.
- Adaptable: You are open and adaptable, able to manage unexpected demands and working with other members of a team on a range of business activities as demand arises.
