Role Description
We have a rare opportunity to join our small business as a Junior Assistant Designer on a project basis. We are seeking a passionate, committed, and organised design professional to support our Creative Director/Head Designer.
In this role, you will be closely involved in the creation and development of seasonal ranges, combining your eye for detail with our brand’s creative vision, ensuring we meet key deadlines and commercial goals.
- Location: Armadale, Melbourne.
- Reports to: Creative Director.
- Position type: Project-based.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist Head Designer with all aspects of range design and development.
- Support in selection and sourcing of fabrics and trims.
- Create technical designs using Adobe Creative Suite.
- Prepare comprehensive supplier handover tech packs, including size specs and trim instructions.
- Research and identify key trends, items, colours, and styling for seasonal ranges.
- Attend and assist in fit sessions and sample reviews.
- On-site role with flexible hours at our High St, Armadale office.
KEY SKILLS
- Relevant tertiary qualification (or equivalent) in Fashion Design, Product Development, or a related field.
- Experience in fashion design or product development highly regarded.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and InDesign.
- Strong technical knowledge in garment production.
- Understanding of market trends and competitor analysis.
- Exceptional multitasking and time management skills.
- Passion for high-quality standards and maintaining brand alignment.
- Creative flair, attention to detail, and commercial acumen.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
