Role Description
As our Merchandise Allocator, reporting to the Merchandise Planning Manager , your stock analysis skills will ensure our stores and website are appropriately stocked to maximise sales and achieve our financial goals.
You will be a key liaison between our merchandise, supply chain and retail teams, fostering strong relationships across the business to turn data into actionable insights.
Please note this role is based in our Merchandise team not our Warehouse.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute optimal allocation strategies for seasonal orders and manage in-season store replenishment and consolidations.
- Manage the balance between online and omni-fulfilment of ecommerce orders, analysing stock and allocations to target a 15% omni-fulfilment rate.
- Analyse detailed sales and stock reports to evaluate performance, identify trends, and highlight opportunities for growth.
- Plan and prepare for new store openings, ensuring sufficient opening stock coverage based on store grading.
- Develop and implement tools for managing allocation ratios, product minimums, and stock consolidations.
- Monitor inventory levels across all locations, managing transfers to balance stock and ensure product availability.
- Load, maintain, and update all product information in our ERP system (Cin7), ensuring accuracy of SKUs, pricing, and lifecycles.
- Collaborate with Marketing to ensure stock is in place for campaigns and coordinate stock transfers for brand and design events.
- Build strong relationships with our retail teams through monthly store visits and by reading daily reports to action stock needs.
KEY SKILLS
- 2+ years of experience in an inventory allocation or management role, ideally within a retail environment. (Jewellery or luxury retail experience is highly desirable).
- Demonstrated commercial awareness and strong analytical skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite & Google Workspace, with advanced Excel skills.
- Advanced Excel proficiency must include VLOOKUP/INDEX functions in addition to pivot tables.
- Excel proficiency must include the ability to create and manage pivot tables effectively.
- Experience working with an ERP system.
- Specific experience with retail-focused ERP systems is required for this position.
- Experience with Cin7 ERP system is ideally required for this role.
- A positive, proactive, and collaborative team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing priorities and adapting to changing needs.
