Role Description
Seed Heritage is seeking a creative and commercially-minded designer to join our team and take ownership of the sourcing, development, and ranging of our Womenswear collection.
Reporting to the Design Manager, you will play a key role in bringing our seasonal Womenswear range to life. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure our collections are trend-forward, commercially successful, and aligned with Seed Heritage’s brand standards.
This role combines creativity with analytical thinking, offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to product development, stock management, and sales performance.
Please note: this is a 12-month fixed term contract role.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and identify key trends, fabrics, colours, and styling for the season.
- Develop ranges that align with seasonal spend plans and monitor OTB plans.
- Liaise with factories, suppliers, and agents to develop and produce product.
- Attend supplier product development meetings and fit sessions.
- Maintain style worksheets, style files, and range sheet boards.
- Ensure all product meets quality, styling standards, and brand positioning.
- Work with Merchandise Planner and Design Manager to achieve sales budgets, gross margin targets, and stock objectives.
- Negotiate costs with suppliers and factories to achieve first margin targets.
- Prepare accurate weekly sales reports and analyse sales performance to identify bestsellers, sell-through, and slow-moving styles.
- Maintain and manage sample sets for seasonal shoots and launches.
- Undertake overseas buying, sourcing trips, and factory visits as required.
- On-site role 5-days per week, based in our St Kilda Road offices.
