Crying at the Lipstick Bar Exhibition
Nov 21 -
Dec 01
"If you're going to cry for me, cry for me in Paris."
Australian-born Los Angeles-based painter Lani Mitchell unveils her newest body of work Crying at the Lipstick Bar this November. Noted for its haunting exploration of longing, loss and hope, Mitchell’s large-scale oil paintings embrace camp not as artifice but as survival, a way to honour beauty even in devastation.
Join Lani at the opening night on Friday 21 at ATA Gallery. In collaboration with Melbourne-based perfume house Perdrisat, a custom fragrance infused with the scent of red lipstick will drift through the space like a ghost, turning scent into memory and memory into presence.
