Melbourne Fashion Week ‘How to Work in Fashion’ Talk

Oct 22

Come curious, leave inspired.

For fashion students, recent graduates or anyone passionate about the industry, Melbourne Fashion Hub is hosting How to Work in Fashion, a panel discussion presented as part of Melbourne Fashion Week 2025 Independent Events.

The conversation brings together three celebrated Australian designers: Toni Matičevski, Suzan Dlouhy of SZN and Julie Goodwin of Julie Goodwin Couture. With careers spanning different business models and creative approaches they will share firsthand insights into the many ways you can carve out a path in fashion.

From freelancing and launching your own label to working in-house or building a side hustle you will gain a realistic understanding of what is involved, what to expect and how to find your footing. This is your chance to hear honest advice, ask questions and learn directly from designers who have built their own success.

Come curious, leave inspired and ready to take your next step in fashion. For more information on the event, head here.
