May is just around the corner, which means Australia’s only international fashion event is hot on our heels (or ballet flats or biker boots). Today, Australian Fashion Week announced the launch of its stacked 2024 schedule, presented by Pandora. And after delving into the lineup of designer talent, this year’s event, running from May 13 to 17, is set to be a particularly fun one.

“The 2024 schedule features designer runway shows, curated conversations, consumer activations and special events taking place at Carriageworks in Sydney and online at australianfashionweek.com, the digital destination for Australian Fashion Week,” says Natalie Xenita, Vice President-Managing Director of IMG Fashion Events and Properties, Asia-Pacific. “We’re proud to celebrate designers and fashion industry leaders during the most anticipated fashion event in the Asia-Pacific.”

As always, the designer runway shows and presentations are a mix of emerging and established Australian talent, featuring names like Alix Higgins, All Is a Gentle Spring, Carla Zampatti, Liandra, Nicol & Ford, Wackie Ju, Iordanes Spyridon Gogos, Romance Was Born, David Jones Indigenous Fashion Projects Runway and Beare Park, to name a few. The four selected Next Gen winners – Amy Lawrance, Emily Watson, House of Campbell and Potirakis – will also debut on the runway, with the award-winning collections presented on May 13.

If you’re looking to further your fashion knowledge, the program also features a curated selection of panel discussions and special events, open to the public. The Talks, presented by Glenfiddich, will explore topics like Now and Next: New Directions in Australian FashionChangemakers 2024 and Made for Music. You can also catch a roundtable discussion about the future of fashion on May 13. The Sustainability Symposium, presented by the City of Sydney, will look to industry insiders as they explore what a circular fashion model really looks like in practice.

Whether you’re attending as an industry professional or consumer, Australian Fashion Week 2024 promises a dynamic lineup for all to enjoy. And for those watching from afar, stay tuned – we’ll be updating you with all the best behind-the-scenes and front-row stories to come out of this year’s much-anticipated event.
