Life of the party.
MBFWA isn’t just all about the shows – there’s a lot that goes on off the runway. Last week, a bevvy of parties, lunches, dinners and launches kept the fashion crowd occupied, and their champagne glasses filled to the brim. Here’s our round-up of the best.
Song For the Mute FW18 Exhibition
Sydney-based Song For the Mute saw the week as the perfect opportunity to hold an exhibition. Titled Plant, the night showcased both the brand’s AW18 collection and a giant sculpture created from refuse. The installation aimed to highlight humankind’s unity and disparity with nature and was created using items from Song for the Mute’s design studio and rubbish scavenged from the streets of Sydney. Hosted at COMMUNE in Waterloo, the enormous pile of refuse sat over 3.5 metres high, with a circumference of 5 metres. Poké was provided by Fishbowl, while Sesión Tequila designed a bespoke cocktail for the occasion.
