E Nolan and Scottie Store have teamed up to create the linen pyjamas of our dreams

Brb, sleeping through hot girl summer.

Melbourne-based womenswear designer E Nolan and luxury linen brand Scottie Store have collaborated on a collection of ‘sleeping suits’ and, with the warmer months approaching, they are the perfect, all day, all night staples.

A fusion of E Nolan’s timeless design and Scottie’s classic-yet-relaxed aesthetic, the limited-edition capsule collection is an ode to the sleepy, balmy days of an Aussie summer.

Its pieces are loosely structured, crafted from 100 per cent French flax linen and made a little bit fancy with repurposed mother-of-pearl buttons. They’re ideal for that slow bed-to-beach transition or, perhaps more pertinently, the slow lockdown-to-real-world one.

Despite a certain chill-factor, the collection still carries that typical E Nolan quality: it’s both masculine in its tailoring and the missing piece to every woman’s wardrobe. The range comprises of four styles: The Painter’s Shirt, The Boxer Short, The Bowler Shirt and The Linen Short. The latter two are unisex.

Emily Nolan and Gemma Leslie – E Nolan and Scottie Store’s founders respectively – are both pals and Melbourne dwellers. After the long haul of restricted living, the duo wanted to create something for consumers that was comfortable and still provided a certain sartorial ‘lift’ that the last six months has deprived us of.

“The collaboration felt like we had discussed it in a dream, wondering ‘What can we wear to bed that will also equip us with the means to drift about this summer?’” muses Emily.

“It’s my take on ready-to-wear to meet this moment when we’re all at home. (It’s) designed to gallivant about in (while) asleep and awake.”

Gemma explains the intention of the range was to showcase the best of French flax linen, especially as summer approaches. “We are all seeking comfort and ease from our clothes and that will only become more so as we move into the warmer months,” she says.

“Our 100 per cent French flax linen is kind on the environment as well as your skin and, crafted into these tailored but loose cuts, it’s perfect for re-emerging out of our shells.”

The pieces will be available on E Nolan’s website on Thursday November 5. They’re made in Melbourne in a limited run, so you best mark the launch date in your calendar!
