Desert Designs have released the lookbook from their Grass and Flowers SS14/15 collection following their spectacular Together, towards the water runway show at MBFWA. Designers Jedda Daisy-Culley and Caroline Sundt-Wels in collaboration with Think Positive Designer Prints showcase some pretty incredible swimwear prints, featuring three from the late acclaimed indigenous artist Jimmy Pike, who spearheaded Desert Designs’ creative direction since its founding in 1985.
Jimmy’s three designs represent Aboriginal dreamtime stories about water sources in his desert country. Jilji represents the trees and grasses that grow on flat earth between sand hills, Wanaminti is a desert flower and Japingka describes the creation of water holes.
