Vivienne Westwood x Opening Ceremony capsule collection

Reviving ‘80s punk counterculture with some archived designs.

Opening Ceremony are reviving Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren’s London heyday, with a capsule collection that unearths some archived designs from their Worlds End boutique.

It’s a bit of throwback to the ’70s and ’80s. Westwood and McLaren’s boutique opened on the King’s Road in 1970, which later evolved into Worlds End—“clothing for pirates”.

No pirate clothing here, but it definitely channels punk counterculture, with utilitarian silhouettes, pop slogans, and a muted colour palette.

Key pieces include their Spring 1984 Clint Eastwood bomber, and a 2010 reworking of the Seditionaries Drunken Anarchy shirt.

The 20-piece unisex collection is available exclusively from their Los Angeles and New York stores, and drops online from February 9.
