An exhibit celebrating Marimekko is coming to Australia
Bendigo Art Gallery is set to feed your hunger for fashion history, with the announcement of its next retrospective.

Come March, the gallery will open its doors to a large-scale exhibit showcasing the history and of Marimekko.
Established in 1951, the Finnish textile and fashion company achieved international recognition during the ’60s and ’70s for its bold screen prints and pop art-inspired graphics.
Exclusive to Australia, the exhibit will feature more than 60 outfits, original fabric swatches, homewares, sketches and other archival material. It’s been curated by Helsinki’s Design Museum and focuses on the work of the individuals who defined local textile practice and created the label’s most recognisable designs.
Tickets for Marimekko: Design Icon 1951 to 2018 go on sale from November 10.
