FJ Shoot: Forever Chuck

All Star.

The Chuck Taylor’s influence spans generations and genres. Since its beginnings as a basketball shoe in 1917, it has gone on to stamp its influence across music, fashion, art and skate culture.

As relevant now as it was 100 years ago, here’s a look through the Converse archives and a glimpse of what’s to come for the Chuck family in 2017.

THE BEGINNING: Chuck Taylor All Star
This is the shoe that started it all and created a movement. Born in 1917, The Chuck Taylor All Star was the original basketball shoe. First introduced as simply the ‘All Star’, it was later improved and refined by basketball player and salesman, Chuck Taylor.

THE THROWBACK: Chuck Taylor All Star ’70
The Chuck Taylor All Star ’70 is a recrafted throwback that pays homage to the original All Star from the 1970’s. Vintage details have been combined with modern additions – such as extra cushioning and a thicker rubber sole – to bring this classic silhouette comfortably into the present.

THE SEQUEL: Chuck Taylor All Star II
The Chuck Taylor All Star II is the 21st Century sequal to the 1917 classic. Redesigned with wearability in mind, the addition of cutting-edge sports technology (Nike Lunarlon cushioning) equals extra support, comfort and ease of movement.

THE EVOLUTION: Chuck Taylor All Star Modern Lux
This style is a look to the future, while still nodding to the All Star heritage. Lightweight and sleek, it features a supple leather upper, a monochromatic palette and a full-length Phylon outsole.
